help

Hey moms, what has worked in getting your child to poop on the toilet? I am ready to be done with all of this! We've tried incentives, toys, candy, etc, but its not doing the trick, any ideas?

I haven't done the potty training routine yet nor am I excited about it, But! You might have already tried this but maybe if you ask him what he would want every time he did his real business. And if it's out of reason then bring it down to scale so it would work? Just an idea. Good luck!

OR, get him a toy that has many pieces to it, and every time he goes he gets another piece to it?

I wish I could help you out more too- and I have actually potty trained 3- but I have found that each one will do it when they are ready. With Dante- he was 4 when he was potty trained- Erin was 3 and Ethan was 2.5

I wish I had a secret- but I don't. I tried EVERYTHING with Dante- and he still wasn't potty trained by the time I had Ethan- so I had 3 in daipers- not fun!:)

Goodluck and I hope someone can give you advice that works!!

Gina! I am right now in the same boat. She would go do the #2 in the potty and then she got sick and now - now way. She pees but does not poop in the toilet. I have tried everything! Even broke down and cried and nothing! If you hear any good advice please pass it on to me! I DON"T GET IT!

Thanks for all the advice!
Lynette, I've tried the "broke down and cried" thing too, and that didn't work here either!
Bertie, yikes! I bet that was tough with 3 in diapers. I guess patience is key here.
Well, I just bought another pack of diapers so I think we're just going to take a little break for awhile until he seems more interested again.

I agree with the person who said he will do it when he's ready. That took us a long time to figure out with Ethan. FINALLY he did it back in July, but even now we have to sit him down and bribe him to go (about 10% of the time he will do it on his own). Call me and pick my brain. Maybe I can give you some pointers!

i hate potty training. i'm sure i've told you that before. i think it's miserable! mya wouldn't poop in the toilet either. then when we were on vacation, she started to for some reason. i don't know why. i didn't do anything. so i guess when he's ready, it'll happen. until then, i feel for you!
