For the fourth of July we headed down to Kirtis' brother's house in Pleasant Grove and spent the night on the third. Thursday morning we planned to wake up early to see the hot air balloon launch and see the Provo Freedom Festival Parade. Well, about 11:00 the night before, Kirtis and his brother started talking, and figured out they had better spend the night to stake out a place to watch the parade. ( I guess Provo is pretty crazy that way!)
So they took off and slept (well, didn't sleep much!) in the bed of Alex's truck, then woke up at 4:30 am to stake out their spots. (you weren't allowed to stake out spots until 5am). They had to throw a few punches, (JK) and got the police called on them (for real!) but it was all worth it for the fun day that we had! Thanks guys!
I love our country and I got teary eyed when this first balloon took off and let down the flag. We all stood and said the "Pledge of Allegiance".
Jackson's cute cousins. We will miss you guys!
Here's all of us watching the parade. I got to shake Governor Huntsman's hand, and Kirtis gave Glenn Beck a thumbs up, and he looked at us and gave one back. So fun!
Thanks babe for staying to claim our spot. We missed you at the balloon launch. We were so glad we could see Tammy too. We will miss her, but maybe she'll come out our way!
Thanks Polly for keeping Avery while we went to see the balloons. She will miss her aunt polly!
