My photographic attempts Part 1: Avery

As part of my attempt to improve my online shop, I've been trying to take better pictures. I created a makeshift "studio" at home, and here's what happened. These are cute, but definitely more on the funny side than the classy side.

What do you think?

Family Night Bowling

A good time was had by all.
Team effort!
One happy boy!
Avery cheered us all on!

So, we finally made it to the bowling alley! I've been wanting to go for Family Home Evening all month, and for some reason or another it just hasn't happened.
We met dad after work at Centreville Lanes. That place was awesome. So clean, family friendly, and such great service. :) And at only 1.99/game, it was a deal. :) Plus we got coupons for free shoe rentals, so we will be going back!

Jackson had a blast and kept yelling, "Wooo!" And "Strike 3!!"
He was having such a good time. My score was pretty dang good. I think the bumpers had something to do with that! But I still beat Kirtis! "Woooohoo!"

Found on Tastespotting

Remember how it's taking all I have NOT to make these cookies right now?
Chewy, gooey, chocolatey mix between a brownie and a cookie. Oh I can already taste it. I'll let you know if I give in, or if I just settle for some Oatmeal Squares topped with Vanilla Soymilk.
Remember how we used to always say "Remember how?" in college before almost everything we said? And remember how it's probably going to stay with me for the rest of my life? I know, weird. But you said weird stuff in college too, right?

Recipe Favorites

My goal this year was to help our whole family be healthier. Here are a few new healthy recipes we have tried and loved.

P.F. Chang's Lettuce Wraps
- Kirtis and I couldn't get enough of these.
I made them with ground turkey instead of using chicken breasts. I even left out a couple ingredients I didn't have and it still tasted really good!

Simply Healthful Whole Wheat Pancakes:
You must try these! They are the fluffiest, best whole wheat pancakes we've tried. There's no oil in them either! Don't skip on the flaxseed. :)

Robyn's Baked Oatmeal.
We just tried this this morning.
We added chopped apples and it tasted like apple crisp. It was delicious, and the first time I've gotten Jackson to eat oatmeal. He kept saying, "Mmm. This is so yummy!"

I love when J's preschool mind kicks into full gear. He comes up with the best ideas!
