Good news!

Jackson was spotlighted in primary today! I didn't even bribe anyone. He was SOOOO excited. I guess we are off the hook now for another baby! Phew. :)

Here were his answers:

Jackson Hill
His favorite Primary Song is Families can be together forever
Eye Color: Blue
Middle Name: Veldon (named after his Grandpa Messick)
Favorite Sandwich: Turkey and Cheese
He has one sister.
He doesn't have any pets. He would like to have a dog.
Jackson is really good at playing hide and go seek.

Family Reunion at Lake Anna

July 2009:
The Messick Reunion at Lake Anna.
We had such a blast. Tyson and Natalie's family was here from Singapore. Mom flew in from Texas and Rhonda and Greg from Minnesota. The rest of us were already here in Virginia!
Mom picked the place- found it on the internet- she was so brave because she had never seen the place, but it was A-MAZING! Perfect place for all of us.
These were the highlights:

Boat Day: We rented a boat and pulled a tube behind. Hayden Ashton and Hayley all LOVED it. Jackson- not so much. He made me promise he would NEVER EVER EVER EVER have to get on a tube behind a boat again. Hopefully he changes his mind about that in a few years!
Orange County Fair- The kids loved seeing the animals- and all the locals wondered who we were! We loved the fair FOOD court- especially the corn. Second best was the $1 bounce-as-long-as-you-want ride.

The cutest 10 year old girl taught us all about heiffers, cows, bulls and the ins and outs of breeding and raising cattle.Typical ice cream experience with Avery:
Dads took kids horseriding:
Swimming in the lake: Jackson got really comfortable in the water. As long as he had his fish floaty and arm floaties! He just loved being out there with his older cousins who were so brave in the water! Kirtis cracked me up because he would just swim way out for such a long time. I was way too scared to do that unless I had my floaty raft with me!

Utah Trip Pics

In June we had tickets we had to use- so I booked a trip to Utah. We stayed with Kirtis' bro Alex and their family. We miss these guys so much. We hadn't seen them for an entire year, so it was a great reunion catching up with them.

It was such a relaxing week for me. Jackson played with Abby 24/7 and the older kids followed Avery's every move. They were so much fun to be with and we were so spoiled there.

Here's us in the canyon where Jackson practiced tree climbing.
Abby and Avery
All the Hill cousins.

We met some friends at the dinosaur museum in Lehi. We had never gone there when we lived there-it was awesome! So many hands on kids activities. Way better than the Natural History Museum here!

This was our old joyschool group! It was so fun catching up with you guys!

Here's lunch with some of our friends from our little North Salt Lake neighborhood. I get so teary thinking about what wonderful friends we had there! Love you guys!

Time to Catch Up

Is it really August 6? What happened to summer?
We are all moved into our tiny "postage stamp" of a place (thanks erika for that perfect description!) and now the waiting for our new house begins.
This week they are supposed to finally officially START construction. Yippee!!

Also, my mom is moving to Virginia and is going to build a house on the lot next to ours! We are so excited to have another Grandma so close. I have the most awesome mom so I couldn't be more thrilled.

Even though it stinks a little being in this tiny place, I feel like we can finally enjoy our summer- now instead of packing in every spare moment, we can just go and do fun things- FINALLY! So anyone want to go somewhere? I'm in.

In the car yesterday Jackson said the funniest thing:
J: Mom we need to get another baby sister.
G: Really, why?
J: So I can be the answer in primary.
G: For spotlight?
J: Yeah for spotlight!

(Every Sunday they spotlight kids at church and read things about them and have them all stand up until just one kid fits the criteria- Jackson told me he gets the favorite food right all the time- it's just number of sisters that he gets wrong!)

I'll be posting pictures from our trips soon.
